One dead after head-on crash on I-75 in Naples

The Florida Highway Patrol now confirms one person has died from their injuries.

Collier County, FL — Multiple injuries have been reported after a multiple vehicle crash, two of which hit head-on at the 106 mile marker of I-75 SB in Naples.

North Collier Fire, Greater Naples Fire and Collier County EMS crews responded to the crash at 2:40 AM Sunday morning.

Initial reports indicated two people were entrapped in their vehicles and another person was ejected.

One patient involved was seriously injured, declared a “Trauma Alert” and transported by Lee Flight to Lee Memorial.

An additional patient was critically injured and transported to a local hospital.

Southbound I-75 is shutdown at Pine Ridge Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
