Man drives on sidewalk, crashes into Target in North Naples

Collier County, FL — A man has been injured after driving his SUV onto a sidewalk and crashing into the Target at 2415 Tarpon Bay Boulevard in North Naples.

North Collier Fire and Collier County EMS crews responded to the incident at 3:39 PM Tuesday afternoon.

The driver reportedly hopped the curb in front of PetSmart and destroyed two signs before driving over 400 feet down a narrow corridor that runs along the front of Target.

The driver passed the eastern entrance to the store, scuffed the side of the building and destroyed multiple shopping carts along the way before finally crashing into a bench and a concrete wall supporting a landscaped area in front of the western entrance.

Fire & EMS radio communications indicate an approximately 31-year-old male was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. He sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Physicians Regional - Pine Ridge.

No other injuries were reported.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
