The Florida Highway Patrol confirms a 43-year-old Naples man has died after being struck by a vehicle that ran a red light while he was riding his bicycle across a cross walk on Collier Blvd in Naples.
Troopers say a 62-year-old Naples man was driving southbound on Collier Boulevard approaching the intersection when he failed to stop for a solid red traffic signal.
The front of the vehicle struck the bicyclist, critically injuring him before later being pronounced dead.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.

Collier County, FL — A bicyclist is dead after being struck by a vehicle near 6650 Collier Boulevard in Naples.
Greater Naples Fire and Collier County EMS crews responded to the incident at 9:47 AM Wednesday morning.
The bicyclist suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being pronounced dead.
Southbound lanes of Collier Boulevard are partially blocked at this time.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
